African American Club – Advisor – Mr. Torres

All African American Club members must come to room 224 right after school today                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                     January 30, for yearbook pictures.  We will have a short meeting after to discuss upcoming events.  Please be on time.  See you there!

 

Athletics – Advisor – Mr Gordon

Attention all student Athletes, the doctor will be coming in to complete spring sports physicals.  You must see the nurse to sign up beforehand and also be registered and have all forms completed and signed by your parent/guardian and yourself in order to see the doctor.  Physical forms can be obtained in the nurse’s office or athletics office.

 

Battle of the Sexes – Advisor – Ms. Brandow

Hey Lawrence students, it is time to show your class spirit by signing up for Battle of the Classes! If you would like to participate you need to see Ms. Brandow in room 310.  The Battle of the Classes shirts cost $12.00 and you must buy a shirt to compete in the events.  See you there!

10th GRADE STUDENTS!! Start your future in healthcare now!

Become a Certified Nurse Assistant

Do you like to help people? Think a career in healthcare is for you? Now is the chance!  Then sign up for our Certified Nurse Assistant Program.  Lawrence High School offers this 2 year program starting in the 11th grade.  Students will practice the basic of caring for patients, in the classroom and hospital settings. 

Learn to:

  • Take vital signs
  • Transfer and position patients
  • Make a hospital bed
  • Feed patients and offer personal hygiene care
  • Provide catheter care and collect specimens

Students will also learn about infection control, anatomy and physiology and medical terminology.

This course is offered through a partnership with BOCES Barry Tech and is taught by a Registered Nurse right here in room 136.

This course is certified by New York! You will leave high school ready to start your career.

Wednesday and Friday, February 5th and 7th, there is an opportunity to meet the students and tour the lab.  Skills demo, Q & A games, trivia and prizes.  Free mini manicure by appointment.

Sign up for a Taste of Tech. Stop by Room 136 periods 1,2 and 3 to register for this event.

 

Girls who Code – Advisor – Ms. Isseroff

By popular demand, Girls who Code will now meet every Tuesday and Thursday in room 120 after school.  Bring your chromebooks.
