Deny: To state that something is not true; to refuse to give or grant something.
The student cannot deny that she submitted her assignment late.
Contrary: Opposite in nature or direction; also, on the other hand or conversely.
Contrary to popular belief, studying music in the background can help some students concentrate.
MW: Bowdlerize: To remove material that is considered improper or offensive from a text/account.
The English teacher decided to bowdlerize the classic novel, removing several chapters to make it suitable for young readers.
MW: Analog: (Of a clock/watch) showing the time via hands rather than displayed digits.
The teacher taught her class to tell time by reading the position on the classroom’s analog clock.
Guidance News
We are preparing to place our order for June 2026 diplomas, caps and gowns. Please fill out the form located in your English google classroom and write your name on this form as you want it to appear on your diploma. Only legal names can appear. Your first name, your middle name if you wish it to appear or the Initial if you only want the Initial or blank if you don't want it added. Your last name as it appears on your birth certificate. If two last names appear they both must be on the diploma. Please also include your height for the graduation gown order. Please complete this form by March 23, 2026.
GSA
The Nassau County Police Department's annual prom boutique will take place on Saturday, April 18th. This event provides high school seniors in need the opportunity to select and try on prom attire, including dresses, tuxedos, and accessories, completely free of charge. If you are interested in attending or would like more information, please see Ms. Vilardi in room 300.
Senior News
Senior Game Night will be held at Dave and Busters in Westbury on Tuesday March 31 from 6-8 PM. The cost is $30 and you're responsible for your own transportation there. Permission slips are due March 17 to Ms. L.
Don't forget Bowling Night will take place tonight, March 19.
Lastly, don't forget Senior Game Night will be held on Tuesday March 31.
Football News
Attention all football players,
We will be recording your personal bests for bench press, squat, and deadlift tomorrow, March 20.
Please make sure you attend weightlifting sessions on Monday, Wednesday, and Friday at 7:00 AM or 3:00 PM. All players are required to sign in to the AM or PM logbook for attendance records.
Hebrew Culture Club
The next Hebrew Culture Club meeting will be on Monday March 23rd after school in the Art room. There is no meeting today.
